Universal Balance

We're not going to think of balance as scales today. We're going to use a pendulum.
Stick with me on this...
Newton's Third Law of Motion states that "For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction". When a pendulum swings one way, it goes so far and then swings the other way with the force of distance as its initial arc. As the force lessons, so does the swing distance, until it hangs straight down, perfectly still and in perfect balance. Everything in our personal world works the same way.
Let's get our pendulum back out.
Invision the first swing represents the color blue.
To keep things in balance, the swing back will represent the color orange.
They're opposite colors, correct? That's what we're dealing with here.
No matter what aspect of our lives we're thinking about, that pendulum swings back and forth to keep everything equal and in balance. And the universe doesn't always let us make sense of the balance it keeps. It doesn't always work tit for tat. Someone may have just found their favorite snack chips in the store but then stepped in a mud puddle in their new shoes.
"As the pendulum swings, patience is required to see the full cycle." ~Buddha While the pendulum is doing all of this swinging, back and forth - back and forth, here we are trying to keep our own balance. It's up to us to remember that the pendulum will swing back again. In the meantime, that doesn't mean that we just sit on our hands and wait. When the pendulum is on an up-swing, we paddle like crazy to make that arc go as far as it can, we put our backs into it to get a leg up.
When the pendulum is on a down-swing, we paddle like crazy to keep from going with it. We put our backs into that, too. We do our best when our backs are against the wall. This is our way of mitigating the two sides of the same coin. Duality. It's in every single aspect of our lives.
